Oak Quarry Hosts Charity Event 2009: Tom Borba

Oak Quarry hosts charity event

Tom Borba of Premiere Golf Solutions said simply, “It’s a great course.” “Tee it Up” magazine said it’s the No.
1 course in the Inland Empire. Orange Coast Golf magazine rates the 14th hole as “the prettiest and toughest par 3 in Southern California.” Informed amateurs and pros, including my son Pat, said, “You’ve got to play Oak Quarry. It’s the best.” On Monday, the Kiwanis Club of Ontario Parkway (OPK) will play its sixth annual charity tournament at the famed course, a dandy setting amid the historic Jensen Quarry. Beneficiaries include: The Pomona Habitat for Humanity and Water for People. Kiwanis Clubs are noted locally and nationally for their generous contributions to children, the poor, veterans and seniors. It would seem then that participants are two-part winners: they help out local charities while playing a wondrous, world-famous golf course. It doesn’t get any better. For information and entries, check with Pat Reyes-Cappelli at (951) 906-9146, or Borba at (951) 295-8086.
