The Fly party Early Friday evening, I waved happily at folks stuck in rush hour traffic on Savannah Highway. Happily Yes. In fact, I was trying to encourage motorists to pull over to enjoy the made-from-scratch savory delights from On the Fly. Their Tasting Party included melt-in-your-mouth local shrimp and grits, crispy fried chicken that screamed buttermilk, braised short ribs over rice, and juicy burger sliders washed down with homemade peach tea. I did not go home hungry Friday! The brainchild of Brannon Montgomery and Margaret Minch, the name of this West Ashley restaurant says it all.
At On the Fly, you pull up, place your order, drive around to pick it up, and head on home. Guiltless pleasure, minus the chopping, cooking or cleanup. And the menu is all under $10! The new restaurant is open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
