8:30am Friday 15th May 2009 A widower who organised a golf tournament in memory of his late wife has decided to turn the fundraiser
into an annual event. John Glendinning, of Weston Lane, Otley, lost his wife, Joan, to cancer in 2006 when she was only 58. The couple were both members of Otley Golf Club so Mr Glendinning, who has also had a stone bridge built and named after Joan on the course, set up the Joan Glendinning Charity Golf Tournament. Anyone interested in taking part should form a team of four players who will be competing for a prize that will be presented at an evening meal after the tournament. To enter contact Mr Glendinning on 07836 203060 or apply in writing to J M Glendinning, Little Garth, 42 Weston Lane, Otley, LS21 2DB.
