Paintings on a Summers Day event in Birkdale raises funds for

GUESTS gathered at the Birkdale home of Queenscourt Hospice supporter Susan Brown, for a fundrasising event entitled “Paintings on a Summer’s Day”.
Works from renowned local artist Malcolm Fryer were on display during a day where visitors gave generously, raising a grand total of &pound1,332 for the charity. Musical duo Pacino provided the entertainment, with food and drink provided by Dave and Chris Smith from Portland Wines and Brian Wareing from Eating Inn. Susan Brown said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported my event, both to those who were present and also to those who could not make it but who sent donations.” The party took place at a time when Queenscourt Hospice is celebrating its 18th birthday. Queenscourt Hospice fundraiser Nicki Brooksbank explained: “Susan has been a devoted supporter of Queenscourt for many years and we are touched that she chose to throw a party and asked guests to bring a donation to the hospice rather than a present. “Their generosity was amazing and we would like to thank to everyone.”
