KENNEWICK, Wash– It was a packed house at the Backbar Panini and Wine Bar in Kennewick for this years second annual Pet Overpopulation Prevention
fundraiser. The idea for the fundraiser is simple pay $25 for food and wine, with all the proceeds going to the non-profit charity. Last year the restaurant says it raised close to $2,500. This year they say they brought in almost $3,000. The coordinator says cupid may have played a part in people's generosity. “I told everybody to save their valentines until Sunday and then come out and be with the people you love and help animals, which I think everybody here really does,” says Kim Hobbick, the event's coordinator.
Several gift packs were also raffled off at the event.
