Wine, wine everywhere and every drop to drink and enjoy.
It was a tough decision but one that had to be made by Ms Leheny and Chris Scott, senior winemaker at Church Road Wines, as to which local wines would appear on the tables at the coveted Midlands Charity Wine Auction dinner.
More than 50 wines were lined up in the Tiffin Room of Church Road Wines after a call from organisers for local wineries to send in their prize wines in a bid to be the wine of the night.
While the cases of wine on auction are the most talked about wines of the event, the wine selection to accompany the menu are the most popular.
The menu which incorporated salmon as an entree and beef in the main course, was carefully put together by Church Road chefs Malcolm Redmond and Thorston Witzel.
Event co-ordinator, Carol-Ann Stubbs said securing a spot on the wine list was a privilege.
“It’s a very prestige place to make the list and this is when we see wineries send in their best,” Mrs Stubbs said.
