Around 2,000 players from countries across the world are expected to take part in the Paddy Power Charity Poker Open at the Normandy Hotel
in Renfrew. They’re hoping the tournament will attract a full house &ndash and raise £20,000 for war veterans. Players at the event &ndash which takes place between Saturday, May 16, and Saturday, May 30 &ndash will be vying for more than £60,000 worth of prize money. Entry will cost £12, with £10 of each fee being donated to the Erskine charity for ex-servicemen and women. Paisley man Ryan said every Buddie is invited to take part in the tournament. “When we hit the target of 2,000 players, it will become not only Scotland’s largest but also Europe’s largest live poker tournament.” Jack, who is from Johnstone, added: “Paul has business ties with the Normandy Hotel and Paddy Power and he came up with the idea for the tournament.
“We said we would organise the event and Paddy Power have donated more than £60,000 worth of prizes.
