Pedestrian struck A 23-year-old Churchton woman was in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in Galesville Thursday morning, county police said.
At 11:13 a.m., a 2002 Ford E150 van was traveling southbound on Muddy Creek Road, passing through a traffic light at Route 255. The pedestrian, who was about 60 feet south of that intersection, was walking east to west and failed to yield to the traffic light, said Lt. James Fredericks, a county Police Department spokesman. The van struck the woman, who was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries. The woman’s condition was later downgraded to serious, police said. The Anne Arundel County Professional Firefighters Burn Foundation’s charity ride will include 1,500 motorcycles that will be departing from Cancun Cantina, 7510 Telegraph Road in Hanover, at 10:30 a.m. Police will escort the ride to Red Eye’s Dock Bar, which is located at 428 Kent Narrow Way North in Grasonville.
