They visited the hospice last week with their handler, police community support officer Claire Kerr, to meet guests and register for the walk. They hope to join a pack of canine pals and dog lovers in what should be a lively 3-mile dog walk along Chester-le-Street riverside. “Our visit to the hospice has been a chance to see the wonderful work that it does for local people, and it’s been great to see Jet and Ben interacting so well with the guests.”
The two Labradors are the latest namesakes to join the Durham Constabulary’s ongoing ‘Jet and Ben’ programme, which has been running for 17 years and sees the pair of dogs visiting schools and kids’ parties throughout County Durham.
