Although accustomed to tackling crime, police will face a different kind of challenge when they take on the youth of Walsingham in a community
football match. Officers of the Wells Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) hope to use the beautiful game to forge closer links with the village’s youngsters when they line up against them at 2pm on Sunday, May 10. The charity game at the village recreation ground has been organised by young people in the village in partnership with the SNT and the Wells Area Partnership (WAP). The young footballers designed a promotional poster and will charge a small fee and sell refreshments to raise funds for local charities and the national Help for Heroes campaign.
