IT’S not exactly a secret but at least it’s now official.
Sydney Confidential can now confirm that the power couple Bill Shorten and Chloe Bryce are in fact a couple, after they were photographed together for the first time in public last weekend. The Federal MP and the daughter of Governor-General Quentin Bryce, were spotted at an official function in Melbourne’s northwestern suburb of Keilor East. But the function was far from a red carpet affair. The notoriously shy couple chose a local Italian pensioners’ function in his electorate to let their hair down and allow a photographer to catch a rare glimpse of the pair together – up to this time they have been avoiding any publicity like the plague. Meanwhile Shorten’s gaffe of wearing odd shoes to a wheelchair awareness-raising charity event has been parlayed into a bonus for the Sir Roden Cutler Charity. Signed certificates called Two Shoes Shorten Awards will be given to carers who wear the oddest mismatched shoes at wheelchair pushing events for the charity being held around the country over the next three years.
