So what exactly makes twin brothers from Prescott think that Ottawa and Eastern Ontario are ready for Donald Trump “I know not everybody is
a fan, but we like his message that if you are going to try something, you might as well go big,” said Jim Doris, the lawyer part of the team born 36 years ago. He is also older, by six minutes. Along with John, his financing consultant brother, they honed their skills in Toronto and then brought them home to Prescott a few years ago. Yesterday, they unveiled their latest deal: the Eastern Ontario Economic Showcase, set for Sept. 24 at the Civic Centre with The Donald as the key speaker. In the brash style that has made him the master of a multi-ring circus of property development, reality TV, beauty pageants, book publishing and general celebrity, Trump promised on a conference call from New York: “I will share some of my secrets for making money.” In a decidedly non-Trump style, the Prescott twins have quietly built a thriving business connecting money, legal and project management expertise in places like Brockville, Kemptville, Cornwall and Ottawa. John said that they have been chasing Trump for two years.
“We had to show that we weren’t just a couple of guys, that we had the wherewithal and that we had the support of business development agencies, chambers of commerce and our MP and MPP.”
