PYJAMA clad fundraisers are already volunteering to strap on their walking boots and tackle a late night charity trek around Scunthorpe.
The Lindsey Lodge Hospice Sleepwalk, to start at 10pm on Friday, July 3, will see over 500 women clad in sleeping gear begin the 13-mile walk at Glanford Park. And this year, 300 women have already signed up to take part in the walk. Mel Banham, head of fundraising at Lindsey Lodge, said: “We hope we’re going to beat last year’s total and the more people who come along the merrier. “We’re a wonderful cause to raise funds for and the Sleepwalk is a brilliant way of getting fit and losing a bit of weight and it’s a really fun evening.” The walk, which has become an annual event, will be supported by Corus, together with Scunthorpe United FC, Limelight Software and host of other local businesses. Lindsey Lodge Hospice is an independent charity offering a range of specialist free services for residents in North Lincolnshire, Brigg, Barton and the Isle, with specific life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis.
