There was a time when mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and other related problems were commonly associated with older individuals. With the passing of time, mental health issues among children have been discussed and researched. What is more alarming is a study published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology which found that the rates of anxiety and depression in children and young adults have increased over the last several decades.
Many non-profit organizations, such as KIDTHINK, have made it their mission to address this growing problem. This year KIDTHINK has a roster of workshops and outreach events aimed at improving the lives of children. In May of this year, they are organizing a radio-thon to raise funds and awareness for children’s mental health.
The annual radio-thon fundraiser is a live broadcast event taking place on May 5th from 6am to 6pm hosted by 92.7 CKJS, ENERGY 106, and HOT 100.5. The event aims to raise funds for and bring attention to KIDTHINK and the vital services we offer the community.
