CHARITY was the big winner recently at Airdrie Town Hall following a successful boxing night.
Thousands of pounds was raised for Yorkhill’s Children’s Foundation at the glittering event on Friday, February 6. The Advertiser featured a number of pictures in our coverage of the night last week. It was the second charity boxing dinner organised by the fundraising committee who handed over a cheque worth &pound11,000 last year. More than 400 people turned out to support the event which was in association with Lodge Old Monkland St James No 177 and the Four Isles Boxing Club. James Docherty RWM thanked all of those for attending ahead of the first fights of the evening that were entertaining.
It was then time for the charity auction and there were a number of tempting lots on offer in a bid to raise plenty of cash.
