Each year, the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (SACASA) and local Tucson restaurants team together to host a fundraiser called Dine Out for
Safety. They are looking for our help to sell raffle tickets at the participating restaurants. There will be a training session ahead of the event where you will be assigned a restaurant where you will sell the tickets as part of a two person team. Your shift will be from 5-9 P.M. on the day of the event. I'm posting this now because they need to start their list of volunteers. I'll keep those who RSVP yes posted on when and where the training session will occur. What is Dining Out for Safety Participating local restaurants will generously donate up to 20 percent of their April 29, 2009 sales to support the Center's mission. They will also make a contribution to the raffle and will be staffed by Community Hosts who will be selling raffle tickets to restaurant patrons on the day of the event. What are the Raffle Tickets A key element of the success of Dine Out for Safety is the event's community-wide raffle. Raffle prizes, such as resort stays, theater tickets, works of art, jewelry and spa services, are donated to the event by businesses and individuals throughout southern Arizona. Tickets go on sale about a month prior to the event, and on the day of Dine Out for Safety, Community Hosts sell raffle tickets at the participating restaurants. Raffle prize donors are listed on the Dine Out for Safety website and in the event program which is given to every diner at every restaurant. Here's SACASA's website: http://www.sacasa.org/ Hope you can make it!
