The San Diego Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is gearing up for its annual 5k Run & 1mi Walk – PurpleStride – to raise money and awareness for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and the fight against pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States and it is by far the most deadly of the major cancers, taking the lives of 50% of patients within 6 months of their diagnosis, 75% within 1 year and 94% within 5 years of diagnosis.
Join us on October 9, 2011 in the Bonita Cove Section of Mission Bay Park for a 5k Run & 1mi Walk (or register as a virtual participant, if you want). This year’s event brings a new location and a new date, which combined with our more active and vibrant volunteer community, we hope will lead to a record turnout and record fundraising total!
