NEWTOWN — The Newtown Junior Women’s Club is seeking the area’s most beautiful baby.
The nonprofit organization hopes to raise $560 through this community contest. To enter, parents or guardians must submit a 4-by-4 photo of the baby with the child’s name and age on the back, along with the $10 entry fee, and a piece of paper with the applicant’s name and contact information to NJWC, P.O. Box 217, Botsford, CT 06404. Members of the Newtown Junior Women’s Club will put all the pictures on bulletin boards around town for people to see the contestants and vote on their favorite. Each picture will be numbered, to conceal the child’s identity and make sure people vote fairly. There will be envelopes below each picture. Each dollar placed in the envelope under a baby’s picture is a vote for that child. Checks can be made out to the NJWC. The photos will be on display for two weeks at Stop & Shop in the Sand Hill Plaza, and then at the annual Lobster Festival.
The winner will be announced at the Relay for Life on June 13 at Fairfield Hills.
