Melbourne sci-fi fans can get a small dose of the Firefly reprise, Serenity,at the charity film screening event, Cant Stop The Serenity.
The Joss Whedon (Buffy) cult sci-fi film is screening as part of the massive global fundraising event Can’t Stop The Serenity, raising money for Equality Now.
Can’t Stop The Serenity ishappening on the same day in 30 cities world wide, and is an unmissable event providing the opportunity to check out Serenity on the big screen or come out of the very pass sci-fi geek closet (the sci-fi geek is a small minded stereotype devised by stereotypical brainless American jocks) and meet other brown coats.You can also win merchandise like DVDs, CDs and othercool stuff.
As well as the feature film screening, the event willshow shorts made by fans andhost a costume comp.
The Can’t Stop The Serenity chosen charityEquality Now works to end violence and discrimination against women in developing countries,theorganisation is supported by celebrities like Meryl Streep and Marisa Tomei.
The charity screening of Can’t Stop The Serenityfor the benefit ofEquality Now is on June 23 at the RMIT Kaleide Theatre. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the event starts at 7pm.
