Monday, 18 May 2009 A CHARITY shop has raised more than £700 for MacMillan Cancer Support.
Bon Marche, in Dalton Road, Barrow, has held events during the past year to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. MacMillan provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support for cancer victims and pushes for better cancer care. Bon Marche has raised a total of £725 for the charity since April 2008. Their latest event was a fashion show, hosted by the Marks and Spencer Platinum Club, who used the charity shop’s stock to dress the models. £22 was raised at the show, held at the White House Hotel, on Abbey Road, Barrow. Mary Looker, assistant manager of Bon Marche, said: “I’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has contributed over the last year to our fundraising campaign.â€
