Shops Will Raise Money For Charities 2009: Postbulletin Rochester

Shops will raise money for charities

Post-Bulletin, Rochester MN Retailers in the Shops at University Square in downtown Rochester will partner with three charities and nonprofits in the Rochester community
throughout the summer to raise money and awareness for their causes. The shops will be supporting Channel One throughout June, the RT Autism Foundation in July and the Rochester Public Library in August. The goal is to raise $10,000 each month to donate to the charity. To raise money, stores will sell a $10 fundraiser-discount card. The card entitles the purchaser to a 15 percent discount at participating stores, and proceeds will go to the charity of the month. Cards will be sold during the Thursdays on First markets and at the Rochester Downtown Alliance booth in the Peace Plaza, as well as at the following shops: Bravo Espresso, Collections, Counterpoint, Counterpoint Home, CP3, Games by James, Hers, Knight’s Chamber, MGear, Nordic Shop, Sopra Sotto and Z-Pizza. In addition, a kickoff event will be at noon May 29 at the Shops at University Square.
