Sponsors sought for Turning Point country club golf outing

Marion Star Staff Report • April 24, 2009 MARION – Turning Point and Marion Evening Lions Club are hosting a Charity Golf Outing to
benefit their agencies’ programs, but there are more ways to help than just golfing. In addition, non-golfers are welcome to attend the event, dinner and auction for $20. There will be a special auction of a few select items following the post-golf dinner and a 50/50 raffle will be held. The cost for the outing is $75 per golfer or $300 for a four-person team and is due by May 8. The registration cost includes green fees, cart rental and a barbeque chicken dinner following the event. The format for the golf will be a four-person scramble with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate, although the golfing portion of the day is limited to the first 144 persons. The first place team will receive four rounds of golf w/carts at a premium golf club. There also will be prizes for longest drive, longest putt and closest to pin. The Marion Evening Lions supports a number of programs with their main emphasis on issues regarding eye sight.
Turning Point provides shelter, support and education, in-shelter and community-based support groups and victims of domestic violence in a six-county area that includes Crawford, Delaware, Marion, Morrow, Union and Wyandot counties. Turning Point is a non-profit agency. Funding comes for a variety of sources including the United Way, the Crawford/Marion ADAMH Board, and the Delaware/Morrow Mental Health and Recovery Services Board.
