Read any good books lately Here is your opportunity to read and to pass along those you have read while helping worthy projects.
The Springfldbooks big sale is coming up on Aug. 21 and 22 at the Springfield Baptist Church located at 1920 Krumroy Rd. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Springfldbooks is a local bookselling operation that raises money for children’s charities and mission work. There is more to the sale than raising money. The intent is to raise awareness of the program, to encourage reading and to sell- off excess inventory. It is estimated that there will be more than 5,000 books for sale from modern fiction to Christian classics, kids books to non-fiction. Paula Todd, the coordinator for the event, said the variety of books available is almost overwhelming. There is a great selection for everyone in the family and the prices are easy on the wallet. Nothing is priced over $1. Todd has made a special effort to have a large selection of books on the local schools reading lists for students. “We are pleased to have this opportunity to provide such a large quantity and variety of books,” said Todd. ”We hope to encourage reading by offering all books at flea market prices. We really hope that people will remember us when they have books they no longer want.”
This is the fourth year for Springfldbooks. The books have been donated over the years from many generous residents of area communities. If you are cleaning out the basement or an attic ,Todd is always happy to receive your donations even during the big sale.
