Successful Winter Season 2009: Been! Wrapping

Successful winter season

What a year it has been! We are wrapping up a successful bowling season, and beginning a summer of lighter fare.
Five of our female bowlers hit perfection during the 2008-2009 winter season, more than in any other. The lucky and talented girls were Trish Jakel, Vicki Trouper, Michelle Aulabaugh, Sarah Rutherford, and Laura Baron. Not to be outdone by their peers, Patti Schultz shot an 803 series and Nikki Lunsford shot an 815. We held successful local tournaments for our bowlers, and some of them also did well at the Illinois State Tournament in Quincy. Kathy’s Clowns held on to third place with their 3835 handicap score, Missy and Laurie Delarosa ended in second place in handicap doubles with 1614, and Laurie took second in handicap singles with 858 and fourth in handicap all events with 2477. The Queens Event saw Michelle Godinez fifth with 716. To continue this brilliant scoring, hone your skills in a summer league. Every bowling center has some fun leagues where you can enjoy yourself with your friends while perfecting your game, and keeping your consistency for the fall leagues. The winter league work is not over for the officers of those leagues. Unless they have already done so, finances must be accounted for, and league prize money and awards distributed. The league secretary must have compiled the averages of all bowlers in the league, both regular bowlers and substitutes, and sent them to the association manager. If you have not done so, turn them in today.
On May 1, Pioneer Lanes hosted the David Nelson Jeweler’s Exact 200 Tournament.
