Superfit Solicitors Help Alistair To Say Thank You 2009: Involved Solicitor

Superfit solicitors help Alistair to say thank you

Get involved A SOLICITOR has said a special thank you to the North East hospital which helped him recover from a rare blood disease.
Alistair Smith was so grateful to staff at the University of Durham Hospital after they treated him last summer for idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura that when he returned to work at his North East office he organised a fundraising event. The employment law specialist at Mincoff Jacksons led 15 colleagues through a demanding triathlon and raise &pound2,750. Alistair said: “Having been lucky enough to make a full recovery, I wanted to show my appreciation to the staff by raising some money to help them with the wonderful job that they do”. “We were thrilled to be able to take part in such an exciting and enjoyable event. At the same time, we have been able to make things a little better for haematology patients and to help the staff with the professional and excellent job they do in caring for those patients.” His colleagues, who were far from all being supreme athletes at the start, hurled themselves into a rigorous four-month training before competing in the Helly Hansen adventure triathlon in the Lake District in March.
The event was part of the Helly Hansen Challenge Series where competitors operate in teams of three to complete 10km of off-road running, 25km of mountain biking and 1.5km of kayaking.
