In the realm of childhood cancer, it’s noteworthy that leukemia, a type of blood cancer, is the most common cancer in children. Remarkably, survival rates for childhood cancers have significantly improved over the past few decades, with advancements in medical research and treatment options. Amid the challenges, the resilience of young patients and the tireless efforts of medical professionals underscore the ongoing progress in the fight against childhood cancer.
The 18th Annual Lemon Ball, organized by the charity organization Alex’s Lemonade Stand on January 27, 2024, stands as a beacon of hope in the fight against childhood cancer. Gathering supporters and advocates, this event not only celebrates the progress made in leukemia and other pediatric cancers but also emphasizes the crucial importance of continued research and fundraising efforts. The Lemon Ball serves as a testament to the collective determination to improve survival rates and enhance the quality of life for children battling cancer.
The Lemon Ball is returning to the Springfield Country Club in 2024! During the 18th Annual Lemon Ball, guests can expect the same elegance and charm as years past, all while making a huge impact for childhood cancer.
Adorned in yellow ties and gowns, guests kick off their evening with a special cocktail reception featuring auction items and experiences available for bid. Then, waiting for them in the Grand Ballroom, is a delicious meal, stories and interviews from childhood cancer heroes and families, and an exhilarating live auction. The evening will conclude with dancing accompanied by a live band.
The Alex Scott Crystal Cup Awards will also be presented to an individual and a group for their commitment to continuing Alex’s mission to fight childhood cancer, one cup at a time.
