U2’s The Edge has signed on to be the new ambassador for the UK learning disability charity Mencap.
The guitarist will help raise funds and awareness for the organisation and help educate people about social equality, campaigning against discrimination.
‘Not many people know what a learning disability is, or the challenges people with a learning disability face. I’ve seen how much work goes into Mencap and want to continue to see it flourish,’ The Edge said.
Members of the band U2 are constantly and consistently working for a better world, through charitable and humanitarian organisations, earlier this year U2 auctioned off a number of concert tickets for charity.
The Edge and Bono were also the surprise act at last year’s Mencap Little Noise Sessions.
