For children suffering from serious illnesses, having a wish of theirs come true can be a life-changing experience. Many children spend long periods of time in the hospital, which is an isolating experience, as they are unable to participate in the same activities as their peers. Even with the best treatment and care from loved ones, going through this can make them feel hopeless, especially if they are living with a terminal illness. Granting a child’s wish can bring them hope and show them how many people care about them. It tells them that they can still have joy in their life despite their condition.
Make-A-Wish Canada is one organization granting the wishes of children living with illnesses to bring hope back into their lives. The Hope Run will raise funds to grant the wishes of even more children.
Since 2016, Hope Run has been supporting Make-A-Wish in raising critical funds to grant wishes – nearly $260,000!
On September 10th, you can grant wishes by taking part in this 5K Run/Walk.
Make a team of your colleagues, friends, and/or family and take in a day of fun at Emily Murphy Park – Picnic Site #3
