The 43rd annual Variety Show of Hearts Telethon begins today at 7 p.m. on Global B.C. and runs until 6 p.m. tomorrow. The 23-hour entertainment festival supports Variety –The Children’s Charity, which helps children with special needs all over B.C. Since the first telethon raised over $60,000 in 1966, the event has gone on to generate more than $140 million for a wide range of programs and organizations, and for assistance to individual families and children.
