Threetime PGA winner Browne commits to Principal

REGISTER NEWS SERVICES • May 11, 2009 a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, will make his Champions Tour debut at the Principal Charity
Classic May 29-31 at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines. Browne, who turns 50 on May 22, won the 1998 Greater Hartford Open, 1999 MasterCard Invitational and 2005 Deutsche Bank Open. He was also an assistant captain to Paul Azinger on the winning 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup team. Browne has had success in the state of Iowa as a professional golfer, winning the 1991 Hawkeye Open at Finkbine in Iowa City. That event was on the Nike Tour, which is now the Nationwide Tour. Also committing to the Principal Charity Classic were former Masters and British Open champion and Scott Hoch.
