Get involved CELEBRITIES were on the tee in Northumberland yesterday for a charity golf match.
Presenting duo Ant and Dec were in the line-up along with Dec’s brother Father Dermott Donnelly. Slaley Hall Hotel also welcomed Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, and BBC DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles. All funds raised on the day are being donated to Durham-based charity the Youth Ministry Team (YMT) which works with young people across the North East. YMT is currently developing a Youth Village in the Derwent Valley which will offer state-of-the-art facilities and accommodation for local schools and community groups. Event co-host Karen Thornton-Brown, of Connect VIPs, said: “The event was a fantastic day and the funds raised are going to a very good cause.
“YMT is looking for funding to complete its Youth Village and hopefully the money raised will take it one step closer to doing this. The celebrity backing that we have received has been amazing.”
