May 30, 2009 Vacation Bible School begins June 1-5, we will be rocking the dock with “Crocodile Dock.” From 9 a.m to 12:15 p.m.
we will have bible stories, crafts, games, food and fun. On June 7 all the VBS kids and crew workers, along with their families, are invited to join us at the 11 a.m. service. They will share the songs they have learned throughout the week. There will be a lunch that follows in the hall. Ages 3 to entering sixth grade can sign up for VBS online at or by calling the church at 419-637-2159. Don’t miss out on the fun. There will be an all-you-can-eat fish and chicken dinner June 14 from noon to 2 p.m. at the church hall. All proceeds will go towards our summer mission trip to southern Ohio. Tickets are $8 for adults and Please feel welcome to join us at any of our services: Saturday, 4:45 p.m., contemporary, Sundays, 9 a.m., traditional and 11 a.m. contemporary. Everyone is welcome! Pentecost will be celebrated and a Dedication Service for the 150th anniversary of Trinity United Methodist Church will take place during the worship service at 10:15 a.m. tomorrow. The Rev. Randall Haase will conclude the month-long sermon series on “God’s Creation and Re-creation” with a sermon theme of “God Reforms.” Following the service, a Bratwurst Festival will take place until 1:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and enjoy the menu which also will include sauerkraut, potato salad, baked beans, dessert and beverage for $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Special live music will be provided during the lunch by the Trinity Quartet Plus composed of members Dan Auxter, Dan Henning Randy Haase, Greg Henderson, Fred Joseph, Phil Smart and Troy Thatcher, accompanied by Judy Smart. Tickets may be obtained on Sunday and a special welcome is extended to the public to join in this kick-off event. Activities next week include a meeting of the missions committee on Monday at 10 a.m. On Wednesday the bell choir will practice at 6:30 p.m. followed by Trinity Choir at 7:30 p.m. On June 7 the graduates will be honored and the summer schedule will begin with only one service at 9:30 a.m. during the months of June, July and August. This Sunday, our service will begin at 9 a.m. as we change over to our summer schedule. The Rev. Daniel L. Orr will celebrate Holy Eucharist. Nursery care for ages 5 years and younger will be available at 8:45 a.m. Sunday School will become “Kids on the Lawn” with outside activities, weather permitting. Children should dress in active-wear clothes. They will come into the church for the Peace and Holy Communion.
