The Women’s Board of the Adler Planetarium will hold a program honoring “Women in Space and Science” at 12:30 p.m.
May 7 at 1301 S. Lake Shore Dr. The program will allow 250 young girls in sixth through ninth grade from Chicago’s public, parochial and private schools to spend the afternoon with experts in the science field. The board will host a reception, dinner and awards presentation for Women’s Board members, trustees and Adler friends at 5:45 p.m. Tickets are $300 for the reception. The Junior Board of AIDS Foundation of Chicago will hold the “Make a Statement: Design for a Cure” fund-raiser from 7-10 p.m. May 7 at River East Art Center, 435 E. Illinois St., Chicago.
