Here’s what’s happening in Texas’ writing world in the next few days: John Foxjohn (THE COLOR OF MURDER) will participate in the second annual
Haverfest in College Station this Sunday, August 23rd. Haverfest is a charity event and all proceeds go to a non-profit organization called Ready For Texas, which helps with recovery efforts when disaster strikes. In addition to the booksignings, there will be concerts by various bands and individuals. Haverfest begins at noon and ends at midnight and John will be signing between noon and 6:00 pm. The Haverfest takes place in “The Beer Joint” at 12550 State Highway 30 in College Station. Tuesday August 25, Katy Budget Books will host its monthly I’ll Take Romance Book Club at 7:00 pm. The West Houston Chapter of RWA has opened its annual Emily contest to entries. This prestigious contest is known for quality entries and feedback. Time is running out to enter Romance Writers of America’s East Texas Chapter annual writing contest. This is an electronic entry only contest and the deadline for submission is September 1, 2009.
