May 22, 2009 4:51 PM Volvo Rents plans to help U.S. troops serving overseas by hosting a Hardhat Comedy show in King of Prussia, Pa., on May 20 at the Park Ridge Hotel. Before the show, collection bags will be given to attendees at the May meeting of the Southeast Pennsylvania Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors in hopes they will be filled with items to send to U.S. troops overseas. The event is not open to the public. “Hardhat Comedy is a perfect way for the SEPA ABC to support a good cause, and we are delighted with our Volvo Rents partnership,” said Geoff Zeh, president and CEO of the SEPA ABC, an organization with about 500 members. “Our members are looking forward to the show and to supporting US troops overseas.” Volvo Rents launched the Hardhat Comedy show last year to give its franchisees a way to help local charities. Upcoming show locations include Atlanta, and Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C. Nationally, Volvo Rents also supports Operation More Care, a charity providing holiday care packages for American soldiers overseas. With the support of the ABC, both nationally and with its chapters, Operation More Care has sent more than 5,000 packages to the troops. Volvo Rents, based in Asheville, N.C., is No. 19 on the RER 100.
