Walk to Remember 2026 Alzheimer’s WA Perth

Join Alzheimer’s WA Walk to Remember on November 8, 2026, in South Perth and help support dementia care, research, and training.

Dementia can affect memory, independence, relationships, and everyday life, impacting not only people living with the condition but also their families, friends, and carers. Community support plays an important role in ensuring people affected by dementia have access to care, research, education, and resources.

Alzheimer’s WA supports Western Australians living with dementia and their families through services, education, training, advocacy, and research. Its work aims to improve quality of life for people affected by dementia while contributing to a future where better understanding and support are available. The Alzheimer’s WA Walk to Remember 2026 will take place on Sunday, 8 November 2026, at Sir James Mitchell Park Playground on the South Perth foreshore.

Now in its ninth year in its current format, Walk to Remember is a major fundraising event supporting people living with dementia across Western Australia. The event has raised more than $300,000 for direct care, research, and training. Participants can choose from 1km, 3km, or 5km walking distances, making the event accessible to people of different ages and abilities. The walk is also an opportunity to remember loved ones who have been affected by dementia and show solidarity with those currently living with the condition.

Registrations open at 3:30 PM, with the walk beginning at 4:30 PM. From 6:00 PM, participants can enjoy a post-walk celebration featuring bands, entertainment, food trucks, and family activities. Children under 12 can participate for free, while dogs and other pets are also welcome. Registration costs $35 and includes a complimentary T-shirt and water bottle.

With dementia affecting many Australian families, Walk to Remember offers a meaningful way to turn remembrance into action and help ensure that people living with dementia do not have to face their journey alone.

Register here and choose your distance to help support dementia care, research, and training across Western Australia.

The heart will remember what the mind may forget.
Who are you walking for?

As the leading cause of death for women in Australia and the second leading cause for men, we all know someone who has been affected by dementia.

The Alzheimer’s WA Walk to Remember is the premier fundraising event in Western Australia supporting people living with dementia. Now in its 9th year (in the current format) the Walk to Remember has raised over $300,000 for direct care, research and training.

By walking to remember those we’ve loved and lost, we can help ensure those who are currently living with dementia never have to walk alone.

Choose between a 1km, 3km or 5km walk, followed by entertainment, food and beverage vans and family activities. All ages and capabilities are welcome and this year, children under 12 walk for free.
