The event is entitled All the 4’s because it is 4 the boys, 4 the families, 4 the fallen, 4 ever.
The walk has been organised by Christine Bonner, 53, from Cambridgeshire, who lost her son Cpl Darren Bonner in May 2007,while serving with 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment in Afghanistan. “I am so excited to be starting the event here in North Lincolnshire, it is such a beautiful place and I have been looking forward to it for months,” said Christine. “This year I wanted to open it up to everyone, especially for families who have gone through the same thing as us.” Sgt Major Dave Grice, 36, from Scunthorpe is taking part in the gruelling challenge to remember fallen comrades. “I knew Darren so it was very important for me to take part in the event,” he said. “The benevolent fund is a fantastic course as it helps not just the families of fallen soldiers but those who have fallen on hard times.”
