The wine-tasting event June 5 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club was successful for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Will County.
Guests enjoyed wine, appetizers, carving stations and a chocolate fountain while raising money to aid Will County children. Proceeds benefit CASA of Will County to recruit, train and supervise volunteer advocates for abused and neglected children of Will County. A number of valuable auction items donated by local area businesses and community members were up for bid. Nova Soul provided the entertainment. Honored guests for the evening included representatives from the Illinois Bar Foundation and Tony Busca of B-Line Bikes for Charity, who supports CASA by repairing and donating bikes to needy children . Upcoming CASA events include a golf outing and a Christmastime train ride. The fall golf outing is slated for Sept. 27 at the Inwood Golf Course in Joliet. It will feature a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
This family event will include a round-trip train ride from Joliet to Tinley Park with the reading of the “Polar Express” story, cookies and milk, a visit from Santa, the ringing of the Christmas bell and many more surprises. Watch for more information as plans are finalized.
