WOMAN FOUND SAFE Ayoung woman initially believed to have been abducted off a St.
Catharines street Friday morning has been located safe and sound by police. The incident wasn’t a case of abduction as suspected by two witnesses who reported seeing the woman being forced into a car by a man at Rykert Street and Vansickle Road shortly after 10 a. m., Niagara Regional Police said. Investigators had appealed to the woman or anyone else with information about the incident to call them. Police located the woman and a man at a St. Catharines residence about 7 p. m. after she phoned to report she was not in danger. “As far as that part of the investigation goes, it’s over. Everybody’s happy,” Det. Sgt. Clint Sears said Friday night. The man and woman knew each other, police said. No charges have been laid as a result of the incident.
