Workington And Seaton Women To Do Midnight Charity Walk 2009: Friday 01

Workington and Seaton women to do midnight charity walk

Friday, 01 May 2009 TWO employees of Workington accountancy firm Lamont Pridmore are preparing for a midnight walk in aid of Hospice at Home
West Cumbria. Janice Fearon, senior audit and accounting technician, of Stainburn, and Ann-Marie Dustin, senior accounting technician, of Hazel Grove, Seaton, will join more than 1,400 other women on the six-mile walk around Whitehaven town centre on Friday, June 5. The duo have been training by walking around Buttermere. They say they were enticed into taking part by the camaraderie of the ladies-only event. Janice said: “I know a few women who are taking part and when I saw a leaflet in the hairdressers I thought I’d sign up too.” Ann-Marie added: “It’s a great cause and it’s a chance to get fit.” Organiser Gillian Chadwick said the event was expected to raise more than £70,000.
She added: “We have had more apply than we imagined and we have been turning people away.”
