Saturday, 22 August 2009 PEOPLE flocked to Bridge Church, Workington, today for a charity fun day in aid of the Pride of Cumbria air
ambulance. About £400 was raised at the event, which had a bouncy castle, candy floss, kids’ crafts and other attractions to keep youngsters entertained. Children lined up to have their faces painted, the bring-and-buy and cake stalls proved popular and soup, chip butties and drinks kept everyone refreshed. The church changed used to be called Workington Christian Fellowship and its new name seeks to emphasise its aim of being a bridge for the community. New Bridge Church signs, which arrived in the run-up to the event, helped ensure that people could find the fun day.
