Nelson Mandela Birthday

Nelson Mandela’s 89th birthday

Nelson Mandela’s 89th birthday will be a massive charity celebration playing host to a Fifa soccer match, some high standing celebrity rock and pop stars, and maybe even areformation of a formerly disbanded girl band.
The upstanding freedom fighter’s birthday has inspired the world football governing body to celebrate the occasion with aFifa sanctioned game, played by an African XI team against a Rest of the World team.
Rumors have surfacedthat soccer players Zinedine Zidane (France) and Marco Materazzia (Italy) will possibly unite to play together, in the spirit of peace, ending a feud which received public attention when Zidane head butted Materazzi at the World Cup in Germany last year.
As well as inspiring harmony through soccer, Mandela hopes that he can mend some pop star rifts, and has invited the Spice Girls to reunite for the 89th birthday charity party.
If they do they’ll be joining Queen guitarist Brian May, Annie Lennox and Peter Gabriel on the already-confirmed-to-attend guest list.
Since retiring from the South African presidency in 1999, Mandela has continued to pursue the health, happiness and wealth of all of his fellow people, through peace and charity work and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
Nelson Mandela’s 89th birthday will be held on July 28.
