Inspire Dispensary brings you an opportunity to Volunteer in Shinyanga, Tanzania

Inspire (IMS) Dispensaryis a modern primary health care facility in Shinyanga Tanzania. Inspire Dispensary is located at 339’51.3″S 3324’04.6″E in Ndala Ward, Shinyanga, Tanzania

Our goal is to facilitate accessibility of the low-income people to modern diagnostic and medical care technologies through experts that are not always available at the same-level facilities consequently not accessible to this group of people that constitutes a majority. We are adopting a primary health care service delivery model to ensure that low-income peoples have access to modern services both financially and geographically.

We are looking for volunteers to support our work in the following areas:
1) Medical service delivery
– General primary health care delivery
– Specialized medical clinics (internal medicine, eye, dental and maternal and child health)
-Capacity building for minor operations
2) Health education
-Participate in designing and delivering of lessons (audio and video) for women attending antenatal care clinic
-Participate in home based care (Cancer, HIV/AIDS and older patients)
-Participate in designing and implementing community and school health education interventions (for community members and primary and secondary schools)
3) Proposal development and fundraising
-Participate in proposal development and fundraising for a community radio project
-Mobilisation of donations for medical equipments
4) Other activities
– Conducting training on basic computer skills (for staff, students and community members
-Conducting training on Basic English Skills (for staff, students and community members
We have a wide local presence and connection, a building with 18+rooms and access to the low income communities.
We guarantee the safety of volunteers throughout their stay. We offer to facilitate visa application, medical care, cheap accommodation and meals, local transport, airport (Mwanza) /Bus station picks up and arrange trips to local tourism attractions (National Parks and Zanzibar).
