Who is your favorite painter? Is it Leonardo da Vinci with his dramatic artworks and color palette of muted, earthy browns, greens, and blues? Or is it Vincent van Gogh with his bold, directional brushwork, expressive colors, and symbolic images? Perhaps it’s Frida Kahlo with her vivid and powerful self-portraits infused with symbolic elements that represent her heritage, religion, and personal life. Maybe it’s even Pablo Picasso with his distinct and abstract structural works. Whoever your favorite artist and whatever your preferred art style is, there’s something for you at City Hospice’s Charity Art Auction. Happening on November 29 at Rogers Jones & Co, this event that will surely delight the art enthusiast in you. Proceeds raised will go to City Hospice, “Cardiff’s local hospice offering palliative care in the community for people with life-limiting conditions.”
When: 29 Nov 2024, 6:30 pm
Where: Rogers Jones & Co
Once again, the auction will be led by City Hospice ambassador, Ben Rogers Jones, familiar to many from BBC’s Bargain Hunt. This year’s auction will feature a live audience as well as online participation, after last year’s tremendous success. We hope you can help us make this our biggest and most successful art auction yet!
Last year, we were honored to receive incredible donations from some of the finest artists working in and outside Wales, including Kevin Sinnott, Harry Holland, Meinir Mathias, and Therese James. Sale prices ranged from £30 to £5,000, offering something for every taste and budget.
Hedy Lamarr, actress and inventor, once said, “A good painting to me has always been like a friend. It keeps me company, comforts and inspires.” This November, purchase a painting to provide comfort not just for your soul, but for the patients with life-limiting conditions in Cardiff.
