Did you know that the first Pie & Mash shop, known back then as Pie & Eel House, was recorded as early as 1844? Pies were originally filled mostly with fresh eels, which were cheap and easy to source. But as eel supplies started to decline, mutton and inexpensive beef became more popular fillings. Take a bite into the rich history of this traditional comfort food while supporting a great cause when you join the Pie & Mash Sunday Lunch this October.
