Up to 3,000 people can take part in the walk at Don Valley Stadium on Sunday October 11. Cancer survivors, people who have lost loved ones or had experience of cancer in their lives, supporters of the charity and the general public can join together to raise as much money as possible. Those in fancy dress are particularly welcome to take part. Charity patron Jessica Ennis, the new World Champion Heptathlete and 2012 Olympic medal prospect, will be coming along to support the fundraisers.
Twice World Champion darts player Dennis ‘The Menace’ Priestley, also a patron, and his family will be among the walkers. Dennis, who lives in Mexborough, was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and has been to Weston Park for radiotherapy.
