Get involved CHIEF constable Barbara Wilding swapped her police uniform for a waiter’s uniform yesterday.
The job swap was all in the aid of charity as the South Wales Police chief waited tables as part of the Stars at your Service charity dinner in aid of George Thomas Hospice. Diners paid £39 a head to be served their food by a host of famous faces including the Chief Constable and Welsh television personality Amanda Protheroe Thomas at the black-tie event. Funds raised from the event will help the charity to provide specialist home-based nursing and practical advice to patients and their families. The charity supports up to 1,000 patients and their families each year with its team of specialist nurses, occupational therapists and social workers.
