In 2006 WA broke the Guinness World Record for the biggest Giant Walk, but the title was taken the next year by Canada.
This Olympic year WA wants it back and they need the help of the WA people and other Aussie states to get it.
The record will be broken if more than 231 635 Aussies simultaneously take a 1km stroll at one of the organised venues throughout Australia.
The event is being coordinated by various State Government Physical Activity authorities, including Be Active WA.
The attempt to break the Giant Walk Guinness World Record will be made September 1.
