A charity that co-ordinates non-emergency flights for financially and medically needy people, Angel Flight Australia, recently reached a major milestone with the flight of its 5000th mission.
The charity estimates it has flown 3.5 million kilometres since its launch in April 2003, which is a distance equivalent to 86 times around the equator.
The charity survives on the kindness of the pilots who donate their time and the use of their aircraft, hundreds of pilots across Australia work with Angel Flight to fly 1600 missions annually.
