As adorable as dogs are, sometimes people don’t care much about them and they end up in cold, lonely cages waiting to be collected by a new family or otherwise worse, awaiting the unmentionable. The Pedigree Adoption Drive wants to draw attention to the plight of these shelter dogs, and to rally the community to their cause by supporting the campaign to find new homes and owners for homeless dogs.
Around 25 000 dogs end up in Animal Welfare shelters across Australia each year. But in our communities, we can help. By adopting a shelter dog, donating food to the shelters or sponsoring a shelter.
If you’re thinking of adopting as part of the Pedigree Adoption Drive not only will you support the campaign to care for dogs but you’ll receive useful advice on how to best care for your fur ball and you’ll get free dog food to feed the little muppet.
As well as campaigning to give a dog a home, the Pedigree Adoption drive is donating to dog shelters through matching food donations and sellingdoggy merchandise.
Research shows that owning a dog delivers a heap of health and lifestyle benefits for owners and also for the entire community. Plus dogs are fun friends, and in the words of some old musos dogs are the best people.
The Pedigree Adoption Drive is aiming to push shelter donations for 2007 up to $1 million. Visit the website for more info.
